Resources to Help Families During Colorado's COVID19 Crisis

Governor Jared Polis announced a relaxation of the shelter-in-place to go into effect on Monday, April 27, 2020.  Though the “new normal” will be different for each one of us, the governor’s office has put together a central location of resources applicable to us all.  https://stayathomeco.colorado.gov/

The Stay at Home Colorado Guide is in alignment with one of our values: Empowerment.  We hold empowerment to include providing accurate and complete information and resources to our community.  Smarter decisions are made from a place of empowerment.

Included in the Stay at Home Colorado Guide are tips and resources for positive, healthy self-care.  We are active and huge proponents of positive, healthy self-care, particularly in times of crisis such as now.

Check out the “Wellness” page at the Stay at Home Colorado Guide for these self-care resources.  Highlights include: building resilience, free meditation classes, parent support groups, family support for substance abuse, yoga for kids, virtual workout classes, and Friday night dance parties.  This is only a short few of a long list of resources!

Stay at Home Colorado Guide also provides resources for those of us who are acting as interim school teachers while education has moved remote.  The “Education” page gives additional tools and resources to ensure our children’s school and development is on track and continues to group. One of our favorites is Colorado Wildlife Coloring Books and Pages; it is a great activity for adults too!

Though we might have had more boundaries and limitations around our little ones’ screen time, this crisis and circumstances have definitely forced us to reevaluate and adjust those limitations and boundaries.  As we touched on our Webinar “Kids and Technology”, a few weeks ago, it is now, more than ever, to be vigilant about the safety of our kids on technology. Another resource on the “Education” page of the Stay At Home Colorado Guide is how to protect our children from predators online.

The Stay at Home Colorado Guide also provides comprehensive resources who “need help.”  “Get Help Now” category includes information for basic needs for all Coloradans, including foods resources, domestic violence assistance, employment, business resources, insurance, personal financial, and rural and agricultural communities.

Though the Guide seems to address all categories, with free and accessible resources, you can suggest additional resources to be added and included in the Guide.  So, if you know of additional resources to help our fellow Coloradans, submit the information!

We continue to be inspired by individuals and businesses who are helping their neighbors in unprecedented ways.

Please stay safe while we navigate this “new normal.”  The Stay at Home Colorado Guide is a great navigation tool to have at your side.
