Senior Associate Attorney
Francesca (Chessie) Morgan has extensive experience working with family law clients who are experiencing difficult life circumstances including domestic violence, high conflict relationships, financial stressors, and child custody disagreements.
Chessie spent the last thirteen years at Colorado Legal Services (CLS) representing clients in family law matters. Chessie began her career at CLS as a staff attorney on the Family and Children Unit and, in 2014, she became the Supervising Attorney of the unit. As a supervisor, she continued to represent clients and was also responsible for managing a staff of attorneys, paralegals, volunteers, and interns.
Prior to Colorado Legal Services, Chessie worked at Safehouse Denver, a local domestic violence organization. After graduating from law school, she worked as an associate for a small criminal defense and family law firm. She received her BA in psychology from the University of Denver and her law degree from the University of Colorado.
Chessie was drawn to the practice of family law because of her passion for working with people and assisting clients and their children through challenging and, oftentimes, traumatic situations. She understands that every client and family is unique and has different legal needs. She approaches every case with compassion, thoughtfulness, and a solution-oriented focus. Although some family law cases must ultimately be resolved through litigation, Chessie believes in working with clients to explore a variety of means for achieving their goals.
